There are many ways to prepare Rick’s preferred Swing’s Mesco blend. (I agree that it’s a damn good roast.) When I have friends over for a relaxing weekend brunch, my go-to is the Kalita Wave pour-over dripper.
The 2-4 cup brewer paired with a nice glass range server makes for a clean tasting brew, and clean up is easy. A french press often yields a richer taste, but if left to sit while you attend to a mimosa or bloody mary, the press coffee can become over-extracted and bitter.
We find the Kalita Wave to be less finicky than several comparable pour-over drippers, which makes enjoying your other beverages (and your company) that much easier.
